We are pleased to share this highly collaborative research effort, supported by KlebNET, reporting the distribution of K. pneumoniae polysaccharide antigens amongst almost 2,000 neonatal sepsis isolates from 13 countries. This important work is being used by the Gates Foundation, the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Vaccines against Klebsiella pneumoniae, and others to inform the development of a maternal vaccine strategy to protect newborns in the countries with the greatest disease burden.
